What happens when god doesn't answer your prayers? What do you do then, like what happens when you make plans and you get excited about those plans and you work towards those plans and then they fall apart? What happened? Hey guys, welcome back to my youtube channel.
I am ashley, and today it's gonna be more of a a real talk for y'all.
I hear from you guys that you say like ash.
I really just want to know like what's going on in your life, so often I'm talking about what the bible says about our lives and I'm encouraging you, but so often I don't share.
What's going on in my own life and in the past couple of weeks there have been a couple transitions.
I think it's gonna relate to you, because it's a lot about what we do when things don't go.
According to our plan last night, I was flipping through old journals, and I saw my prayers from this time last year and guys not a lot of them had been answered.
Is that not real? Is that not real talk? So often we watch these videos or we hear these sermons or people are like just have faith and just believe and god's gonna answer your prayers, but like what happens when god doesn't answer your prayers? What do you do then? Like what happens when you make plans and you get excited about those plans and you work towards those plans and then they fall apart? What happens? I think this is something that the church doesn't talk about, because it's not it's not fun to talk about, and we want to hear about the really cool stories we rarely want to hear about the stories where god doesn't answer a prayer for years.
You know we don't want to hear about that, but I want to talk about that today.
So quick update, I actually just moved y'all.
I know we just did a room tour, which is just so funny.
I was living the apartment life now I am in a house, it's funny, moving from an apartment to a house, because the apartment life like it's so vibrant and I would go to sleep and I would hear the music from across the street, but as I'd be going to bed and I'd, hear sirens and I'd see people every single day, because I'd walk out of my apartment and I'd, see my neighbors or I'd, see people at the gym downstairs or I'd, see the front desk people or my friends and then, like you, move to a house, especially in your 20s, and you like, don't see anyone you're like wait.
This is so weird as in as someone who thrives off of being around people, I'm like kind of struggling with the fact that I don't see people ever so.
I'm gonna have to work on that.
I'm gonna have to probably just go to more things during the day.
I don't know what you guys are gonna do if you're in my same situation, maybe you can drop like a little tip down below like what to do when you go from apartment life.
To the house life and you just kind of feel like you're, not seeing a lot of people, maybe I'll go to more coffee shops.
I love coffee shops, but yeah.
That's an update.
Another update, tick tock is still gone, so I know so many of you have come from pinterest, which is just like the craziest thing.
What the lord has done on pinterest, but tick tock is still down.
There was no reason.
Is that not insane you guys want to hear like? Are you struggling with anything like honestly yeah, I'm struggling with that because I didn't do anything wrong and then they just deleted a year and a half of work, and so guys it's been very hard, and I don't know if anyone in the comments has gone through that understands what to do about that.
But you're gonna die.
I created another account and then that got banned too.
The other account had like 142 followers.
You guys like it wasn't high profile and it still got banned.
I'm like the devil is having a field day.
He just doesn't want my content on tick tock, or maybe it's god when some things that happen that are not according to our plan.
How can we tell when it's from the devil and the devil took it away, or how can we tell if it's god and god took it away- that's difficult, especially with things that we don't understand and especially with things that were going well, scripture that I read today that I really want to share is proverbs 16, 3 and I'd like to share with you guys, because it really encouraged me- and it's actually my anchor verse for this year with everything going on with everything going on in your life, with everything that we don't understand, perhaps we can come back to this verse and things can be put together again.
This is from my daily bible, which I'll link it down below guys.
I've been loving this daily bible.
It would be a dream to create one of these, for you guys like because I heard that the shipping was kind of whack, but anyway proverbs 16 3.
Shall we commit your actions to the lord and your plans will succeed wow, so another translation, the amplified version, says roll your works upon the lord.
He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to his will.
I want you to hear this.
This is insanity.
This is insanity that this is what the lord can do.
He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to his will, and so your plans will will succeed, mind blown so what this means.
I've read this first so many times and been like what does that even mean so like if you're ever reading the bible and you're like that, doesn't make sense, I'm really with you.
I completely have been there too.
I think the best thing about what we're doing here is.
I've literally had every single question or still having the same questions as you and we're just walking through it together, but this scripture is so beautiful because if things are not going to according to your plan, if things are falling apart, if things are just going in a way that you don't understand, I want you to do what this verse says and I want you to roll it over to the lord.
So today I literally think we should just roll it to the lord.
So that means let's roll over the work that we've done.
In my example, I got a rollover, tick tock! I got a roll over creating you know: tick tocks, whatever okay, I'm gonna roll, that to the lord.
What are we gonna roll over we're gonna roll over a relationship, maybe that you recently lost and you're really struggling with that? Let's roll that to the lord, like! Let's just imagine the lord is like right here, he's like hey, I'm right here and then we're like.
Oh, my gosh, I'm so afraid to give you this, because if I give it to you, I don't know what's going to happen with it.
Well, we've got to do this right now, because we won't know what his will is unless we first roll it to the lord.
So let's roll it to the lord we're giving it to the lord okay he's taking it he's, taking it.
Okay, now that we've submitted it to god, we've taken it out of our own hands.
We have literally given given this thing that we were holding on to this thing, that we don't understand.
This thing that's devastated us.
We give it to god, okay and then what we get to do now, you guys now that it is out of our control and now that we have submitted and surrendered that thing we get to see.
Okay, what's god gonna put on my thoughts? What is he gonna do with my thoughts because he says in his word: he will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to his will.
So what does he put on your thoughts? What has he put on your mind now that you've surrendered this? It doesn't have to be right now, but I just want you to pay attention to even today, like what does god put on my mind, is it I want you to join a gym? That's the first thing that came to mind.
Is it I want you to um reach out to this person.
I want you to do this like what is it that he's putting on your thoughts, because it says that it will become agreeable to his will, but the key is our thoughts aren't agreeable to his will unless we surrender first the work, so we've got to roll it to the lord first, and only then only when we surrender can we actually know what god's will is only when we surrender I'll leave you with this one of my friends.
She described this with the lord and it changed the way that I saw the lord um sweeta lisa.
If you're watching this, this one is yours, I'm not taking credit.
It was incredible you guys we were like at the dinner table.
Oh my gosh, that was literally the lord, because that was so profound.
Here's here's what it was if we go like this to something god goes like this, but if we go like this, god then goes like this.
Sometimes we are the ones that are getting in the way of god, and sometimes it is the moment that we surrender that god can actually do something with that thing that we've been holding on to so today.
Maybe that's not what you wanted to hear.
Maybe you wanted to hear me say: wrap this up in a bow about you know, god's gonna come through and all that stuff and he is, but I think getting really practical.
Let's surrender, let's roll the works to the lord, let's just give whatever it is.
That's been just clouding our view over to the lord I'm gonna do this too fam.
I am not like saying you've got to do this, like I'm literally in the middle of this too, just giving it to the lord, giving the unanswered prayers to the lord, giving the fact that they were unanswered for a year to the lord like right, giving all of it to the lord and then seeing what he does.
I want to encourage you guys to just remain in the lord today as you do that to abide in him.
He is a good father.
I know that this was more of a different video, but I'm so so so glad that you were here comment below.
What's one thing that you can surrender to the lord today make sure to like and subscribe for, weekly videos.
Oh, I love you guys so much.
I want you to know I'm with you and we are in this together, we're literally in this together.
We are in this life together we are figuring out god's word together and we're just learning how to live by it day by day.
God is good.
He is with us.
He has not left us, especially in the storm, especially in a season of drought.
He is with us.
He loves you, I'm so glad that you're here I love you, I'm literally so stoked to have you in this community, and I will see you guys in the next video bye.

What does the Bible say about not understanding God's will? ›
Proverbs 3:5-6
So, Solomon tells us not to lean on our own understanding because our understanding is limited. We don't get to see things from God's perspective. We don't get to see God's plan and purpose for our circumstances. That's why we must simply trust that God has a plan and purpose for everything we encounter.
Perhaps God's delay is His way of redirecting you. His delay may be His way of telling you that you need to seek His will in this matter. You may be praying in one direction but He wants you to pray in a different direction. This may be a gentle way of saying “No” to your request.
How do you trust God in all circumstances? ›All we need to do is believe, with no doubts nagging at the edge of our minds. “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths” (Proverbs 3:5, 6). Our limited intellectual understanding isn't a requirement of faith.
Why doesn't God answer my prayers immediately? ›Your prayers do not align with God's will.
Simply put, sometimes God doesn't answer our prayers because we are praying for the wrong things. And we may not be doing this out of malice, either, so much as out of ignorance. Perhaps we don't know enough of God's Word to know his will.
[1] This isn't the same as when God doesn't answer our prayers the way we want—there are other reasons why He might choose to do that. When He doesn't listen to us, it is likely because our sin has caused offense to Him and hindered our prayers.
How God answers our prayers in 3 ways? ›I've heard it said that God answers prayers in one of three ways. God says “Yes,” and you receive what you ask for. God says “No,” and you have to accept it and move on. Or God says “Not Yet,” and you learn to be patient and wait.
Is anxiety a lack of trust in God? ›Anxiety is a lack of trust in God. It is a vain attempt to gain control. Often, our anxiety stems from what we fear we are losing due to our circumstances.
When I am afraid I trust in God? ›When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me? All day long they twist my words; they are always plotting to harm me.
Is it wrong to have doubts about God? ›If you've struggled with doubt or are currently struggling with it, before you do anything else, you simply must know that going through these seasons — those ones that wreck you about Jesus and God — is normal. And not only is it normal, but it's also necessary. Doubts are the growing pains of the faith.
Is it a sin to question your faith? ›It's not a sin to question God — search the scriptures if you doubt. I believe God wants us to question His plan and His ways. He settles our doubts by giving us the belief that His ways are not always our ways.
Does God know everyone's thoughts? ›
Fifteen hundred years after Noah's great flood, King Solomon was receiving some advice from his father, King David, who said this, ” … for the Lord searches all hearts, and understands every intent of the thoughts” 1 Chronicles 28:9. Isaiah 55:8-9, BSB “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My ways,” declares the LORD. #2 Remember That Wisdom Comes From God Alone.
Why do I feel upset with God? ›It is not sinful to feel angry toward God. It is human. We have a concern for righteousness, and whenever we encounter what we perceive to be unjust situations, we experience anger. Knowing that God is all-powerful and could have averted these events, our anger is often toward God.
Is it okay to not understand everything in the Bible? ›Our key verse says, "The LORD our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them." God reveals the truths He wants us to understand when He feels we are ready to understand and apply them. What does the Bible say about speaking without understanding? ›For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God. Indeed, no one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. What does the Bible say about beyond understanding? ›

What hinders prayers from being answered? ›James 4:3 says, “You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly, to spend it on your passions.” We don't get our prayers answered because our motives are impure and wrong. God answers prayers according to His will and desires. If it isn't His will (or goes against His will) you can be sure it won't get answered.
Can God hear my prayers in my head? ›Through the scriptures, we are taught that God will always hear our prayers and will answer them if we address Him with faith and real intent. In our hearts we will feel the confirmation that He does hear us, a feeling of peace and calm.
Does God hear our prayers if we are not saved? ›
He has stated that He will not hear certain ones. Isaiah wrote, “Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear” (Isa. 59:1-2).
How do you know when God says no or wait? ›God says no or wait because he has a greater purpose.
This means that he has all power and full authority in heaven and on earth. Everything that happens is under his control (Job 42:2). This means that he doesn't make any mistakes. You will never know the cost of what you want.

Because God loves you, you can show your trust in Him by talking about all your feelings and circumstances with Him — the good and hard — through prayer. Don't let your emotions rule your life; bring them to God so He can help you address them. He is not disappointed or frustrated by your struggles, doubts or pain.

- Don't Depend on You. We live in a world where trust must be earned and seems to be in short supply. ...
- Cry out to God. ...
- Run from Evil. ...
- Put God First in Your Life. ...
- Check Yourself by God's Word. ...
- Listen to the Holy Spirit. ...
- Rest in God's Love.
The key to trusting God is to follow Jesus's example. Imagine how unfairly He was treated, how it must have appeared that God didn't know what He was doing, as Jesus made His way to the Cross. But the Bible says Jesus entrusted Himself because He knew God would do what was right.
When God is silent during difficult times? ›
“For God alone my soul waits in silence . . . my hope is from him” (Psalm 62:1, 5). If we lean on him while we wait, God will give us the grace to wait and to listen carefully as we pray, go to trusted Christ-followers for encouragement, and keep opening his word and asking him to help us hear him.
Why did God allow me to lose everything? ›To gain Christ we must accept the necessary losses. Paul said, “For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ.” Nothing is more valuable than Christ, therefore no amount of suffering that draws us closer to Christ is too great a sacrifice to make.

Prayer is simply talking to God -- and the most important thing I can say about this is that God wants you to talk to Him!

Find prayers in the scripture and pray those on your own behalf. Praying will build your faith and help you to keep your eyes focused on the Lord, even in times of crisis. Meditation is powerful, especially for the Christian. Meditation is not some whimsical clearing of your mind.
