The University of Maine at Fort Kent is seeking an eSports Coordinator to assist with developing, promoting, and facilitating the UMFK eSports Team.

The successful candidate can expect variable work hours to include traditional daytime, evenings, Saturday, or a combination thereof as the team's needs dictate. This is a temporary nine month (9/1/2024-5/31/2025) position that will be expected to work in person/ on campus for an average of 15 hours per week.

The salary for this position is $10,000.00 and does not include benefits.

The surrounding town of Fort Kent is a welcoming town of approximately 3,800 people who are active in various festivals, community gatherings, and civic work. UMFK is embedded near the center of town allowing easy access to amenities and the community at large.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Knowledge and culture of sports in general
  • Knowledge of new technologies in eSports

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least one year of competitive eSports experience involving team-based multiplayer online video games
  • Specialization in digital technology

Tasks

  • Serve as a link between management and employees by handling questions, interpreting and administering contracts and helping resolve work-related problems.
  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters, such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes.

  • Allocate human resources, ensuring appropriate matches between personnel.
  • Oversee the evaluation, classification, and rating of occupations and job positions.
  • Plan and conduct new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward organizational objectives.
  • Analyze training needs to design employee development, language training, and health and safety programs.
  • Study legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
